ASIS International, the world’s largest association for security management experts, has announced the full list of directors for its Global Board 2021. The Global Board of Directors, first established in 2020, is an important step in the association’s transition to a new global governance structure that will enable ASIS to better serve its members at local, regional and global levels.
Timothy M. McCreight, CPP, Global Board Director, Canada, was selected by the Board as Secretary and Treasurer in 2021. McCreight joins President John A. Petruzzi Jr., CPP, USA; President-elect Malcolm C. Smith, CPP, of Qatar; and Peter J. O’Neil, Chief Executive Officer of ASIS, on the Global Board Executive Committee 2021.
Security leaders selected for a three-year term at At Large Director starting in 2021 include Pablo Colombres, CPP from Brazil; Joe M. Olivarez Jr. from the United States; Axel Petri from Germany; and Eddie Sorrells, CPP, PCI, PSP from the United States. Colombres will serve a second term as At Large Director. Chiko Scozzafava of the United States has been selected to serve the remainder of McCreight’s tenure on the Global Board.
The new directors of the Global Board were selected in October 2020 by a nomination committee composed of ASIS President Christina Duffey (CPP) from 2019. McCreight and Jaime P. Owens, CPP, member of the Global Board; and member-elected representatives Melissa Mack, CPP, Gary L. Miller, CPP, PCI, PSP and Werner Cooreman, CPP, PSP. The committee assessed candidates on the core values and competencies of ASIS – including management experience, knowledge of ASIS and the security profession, strategy development and visionary thinking, leadership skills and cultural intelligence. The Global Board approved the new Director Slate on November 10th.
Malcolm B. Reid, CPP from the USA, will continue as At Large Director on the Global Board 2020.

ASIS Regional Boards
In 2022, ASIS will set up regional boards to support members in Europe and North America. And then every region around the globe. When fully implemented, each regional board will have a seat on the global board.
