SmartTask – a UK-based developer of cloud workforce management solutions – recently announced the availability of its new Mobile Operations app.
SmartTask Mobile Operations is an app specially developed for UK security service providers in collaboration with the UK security industry that keeps field workers in contact with the control room.
The app, which runs on both Android and iOS smartphones and provides automated run sheets, simplifies the filling out of customizable response reports, enables the control room to better manage alarm responses and helps to demonstrate compliance with BS7984. The new mobile application can be fully integrated into other SmartTask modules or act as a standalone solution.

Banish paper sheets – App-based run sheets and assignment instructions are securely sent to officers, replacing paper run sheets that are time-consuming to create and quickly outdated. Once designed, a run sheet can easily be updated as needed on the fly. Officers simply tick assignments when completed in the app, fill out inspection forms, or scan patrol tags which automatically send the information back to the control room as soon as it happens.
Smart documents – Comprehensive information such as assignment instructions or COVID-19-specific entry instructions can be sent securely via the app so that the officers present can easily look it up. An online audit also shows who has read them.
Manage alarm responses – When an alarm response is received, the controllers in one instance can view all the location details, where the keys are kept and who can attend the fastest. Officers can fill out alarm response reports with photos and signatures that can be sent directly to customers or to the control room for review.
Key holder & BS7984 – All activities, timed locks and / or unlocks, void object inspections, and random patrols are tracked to make the control room fully visible. In addition, all information about keys, where they are kept, who had access to them and when, is monitored and provides an audit trail for seals. This proves compliance with the key holding standard BS7984-3: 2020.
Duty of care – The control room receives a notification of missed check-in calls and a notification if the officer fails to report that a location is safe after completing their first outside patrol inspection.
Reporting and invoicing – The app saves recurring charges and records callouts, patrols, locks / unlocks and invalid property inspections so detailed information can be shared with the customer It also means that invoicing is simple, accurate and reflects all the services provided. Response SLA reports make it easy to monitor and improve performance while making it easier to comply with SIA audits.
