YP – Hosemann: Meeting in two rooms of the largest Senate committee, which will be webcast in the 2021 session

The Mississippi Senate will add Room 409, the second largest committee room, to its web-broadcast rooms during the 2021 legislative session.

In May, the Senate began webcasting sessions in Room 216, the former Mississippi Supreme Court chambers, where most of the committee business is conducted on the Senate side of the Capitol. The COVID pandemic accelerated the schedule for online provision of committee rooms.

YP-Ag commissioner Gipson announces successful disbursement of MASA funds to MS agricultural producers

Mississippi Agriculture and Trade Commissioner Andy Gipson announced the successful payout of $ 7,697,012 to Mississippi farm producers from the Mississippi Agriculture Stabilization Act (MASA) under the CARES Act.

“I am proud to announce that the Mississippi Department of Agriculture and Trade has distributed more than $ 7.6 million directly to our farm producers across the state who struggled during the pandemic this year “said Commissioner Gipson. “I would like to thank Governor Tate Reeves, Vice-Governor Delbert Hosemann, House Speaker Philip Gunn, Senate Agriculture Chairman Chuck Younger, and House Agriculture Chairman Bill Pigott for their work on this endeavor.”

President Trump gives pardons, commutations

President Donald J. Trump granted full pardons to 15 people and commuted part or all of the sentences for an additional 5 people.
