The autocratic President Donald Trump has tried, but so far has not ended the existence of the United States as a democracy. He will try again on January 6, calling on Republicans in Congress not to approve the electoral college vote in favor of Joe Biden as president. If that fails, he may follow the suggestion of the recently pardoned, treasonous former General Michael Flynn to declare the Marshal Law and ask the military to reverse election results in the swing states. Democracy has and will survive Trump’s attempt to kill him, and justice awaits him by January. 21 ..

Trump has lost over 60 of the cases he took to court alleging widespread electoral fraud in the 2020 election. His attempts to have the courts declared the winner by casting the votes in the swing states have failed, including at the Supreme Court. Many voters who support Trump (and think he’s good for America) just don’t understand what democracy means. Those who understand what democracy means and still support it;

– Belief in an autocratic, non-democratic government

– Are cult-endangered personality types – support stubborn partiality about the interests of the country

– Are addicted to celebrities

– You have neither read the Constitution nor informed yourself about the political corruption of the President in both parties

In a democracy, the power of government rests with the people; the rule of the majority of the people. The founding fathers embedded a number of laws in the constitution that support equality for all people, the rule of law, and government of “the people, the people and the people”. This premise contradicts Donald Trump’s vision of America, which is made clear in his statement: “Article II states that I can do anything I want.” This statement, coupled with countless constitutional violations, exposes Trump as an autocrat, and his support makes him complicit in weakening American democracy. While this is not a deliberately unpatriotic act, those who voted for Trump AGAIN are the victims of a fraudulent, dishonest assailant by a President.

Four years into his tenure, Trump has managed to commit two of the most heinous acts of his against democracy and the American people.

1) His lack of leadership and disinformation campaign during the Covid-19 pandemic resulted in the deaths of hundreds of thousands of Americans, approximately 2,000,000 infections, and the collapse of the economy

2) His attempt to overthrow a free and fair election in order to keep power unfairly by filing unfounded fraud claims and threatening election officials and governors in swing states to nullify the votes, and running a disinformation campaign against mail-in-voting.

In a taped interview with journalist Bob Woodward last year, Trump admitted that he knew the virus was “deadly” but he “played it down so people wouldn’t panic”. That statement is an admission that he failed to protect public health by withholding information about the virus and lying about the serious threat of death it poses. He repeatedly mocked the wearing of masks, hosted super-spreader rallies and social events at the White House, tried to suppress the CDC’s disclosure of COVID facts, promised the virus was like the flu and would go away, and caught COVID through its irresponsible behavior and caused many of its employees to be infected. Scientists have educated the public on how to effectively prevent infection with the virus. Trump, however, has honored Dr. Fauci was excluded from leading the task force and replaced by Dr. Scott Atlas, a medical conspiracy theorist, who replaced My Pillow Guy, who touted a strange potion of oleander leaves as a COVID cure.

In the run-up to the presidential election, Trump described the election as rigged and claimed that mail-in-voting (this is how he and his family vote) was fraudulent. He instigated aggression against Democrats and election officials among his supporters. He lied and said he had evidence of election fraud when he didn’t. He pressured governors and electoral officials to exclude postal ballot papers from the final vote. In addition, he filed lawsuits that had no value and undermined confidence in the integrity of the electoral process.

Not only did he act like a sore loser after the election, but he was also an enemy of democracy, attacking members of both parties for refusing to declare him the winner of an election he lost in a landslide. His focus on reversing election results has resulted in his duties as president being abandoned. Furious, he’s trying to sabotage Joe Biden’s success by withholding full defense and budget information, and looking for donations to aid his mission to illegally change election results.

Democracy survived the corruption that Trump and his appointees brought into the White House. His disastrous management of the pandemic and anti-American attack on the integrity of the US electoral system could result in criminal penalties for the soon-to-be-president if he is asked to leave the White House. Nobody is above the law!
