Less than a week after Donald Trump encouraged a crowd of supporters to storm the U.S. Capitol, some coalition politicians here in Australia are concerned that Twitter’s decision to ban it is an example of major technical overreach.
Social media platforms have started suspending the president after the chaos last Wednesday. Twitter announced on Friday that it would permanently suspend Trump “because of the risk of further incitement to violence”.
But in Scott Morrison’s Trump-nosy party room, there seems to have been far more manual work on what Twitter did than what the president’s backers did.
