Donald Trump’s re-election campaign was mostly about LAW AND ORDER. He preferred to ignore the deadly pandemic that was devastating the nation and instead scare his followers with bed-wetting predictions about how Joe Biden would lead the purge.
And then, on January 6, 2021, a date your grandchildren will have to study in school, Trump personally lynched and set them free in both chambers of Congress.
The mob broke into the Capitol, chillaxte in Spokeswoman Nancy Pelosi’s office, stole the speaker’s lectern as a sad little “trophy” and beat a policeman to death. A total of five people died, and some thugs even said they wanted to hang Vice President Mike Pence from a tree, as you do with “traitors” who break the law and enable your mad king’s coup.
Trump delivered his own nightmare. It was shocking, but not surprising.
During the National Republican Convention in August, the annoying St. Louis couple who were pointing guns at pedestrians cutting through their courtyards warned of Biden’s oncoming Marxist mobs.
PATTY MCCLOSKEY: So make no mistake: no matter where you live, your family will not be safe in Radical Democratic America.
MARK MCCLOSKEY: President Trump will defend the God-given right of every American to protect their homes and families.
It was still Trump’s America on January 6th, and he watched this chaos on his behalf with reported joy because he thought it might help him stay in power.
Elaine Godfrey wrote in The Atlantic that this attack on Cell Block Congress could have been much worse, and there is no reason to believe that this was the end.
“President Trump lit the fire in people,” a protester named Maria told me Wednesday afternoon before either of us knew that rioters had broken into the Capitol. “Some of these people … they are ready to go to war today or die for their country. This is not going to go away anytime soon.”
QAnon Caucus member Rep. Lauren Boebert of Colorado failed to dress her Annie Oakley and helped hold the mob off. However, she had previously tweeted that “Today is 1776,” so she probably wasn’t a rioter. She helped spread Trump’s lies about the elections that fueled the attack.
Conservatives were desperate to link the violent attack on the Capitol to random rioting and looting that summer. The latter was not part of an organized political effort. Plus, anarchist idiots have at least the decency to wear masks and not brag about their multiple crimes on social media.
Meet Jenny Cudd from Midland, Texas. “WE broke into SpeakerPelosi’s office door and someone stole her hammer and … https://t.co/N8sLUX36uY

Jenny Cudd, a business owner and former mayoral candidate from Midland, Texas, confessed in a now viral Facebook live post that she was part of the mob that stormed the Capitol building. I don’t care how white you are, there are laws in this country against things like that.
HIDDEN: We had to climb a wall to get there and we pushed and pushed and pushed and screamed and screamed charge and we pushed and pushed and pushed and got in. There was a door that was open, we went through the door and we were inside.
Cudd later resigned, claiming that she meant “we” more generally. She wasn’t referring to herself personally. This was the royal “we” I think. We are not amused.
HIDDEN: I didn’t break any laws, legally walked into the Capitol, and did nothing to harm anyone or destroy property.
That’s absurd. I wrote last Tuesday that the Capitol is one of the most secure buildings in the nation, a remark that is as old as wine in boxes. Cudd somehow sees himself better than the “mob” who invaded McCloskey’s private street. It is perfectly acceptable for her and her MAGA colleagues to “tear down” Pelosi’s office door. She doesn’t understand how this is a crime. She is free, white, and over 21.
During the protests this summer, Trump issued an executive order imposing draconian penalties on anyone who damaged federal property. The following passage smothers the irony with a fluffy pillow.
Anarchists and left-wing extremists have tried to advance a marginal ideology that the United States of America describes as fundamentally unjust, and they have tried to impose that ideology on Americans through violence and mob intimidation. They made riots in the streets burned police vehicles, Government officials killed and attacked as well as entrepreneurs who defend their property, and even conquered an area within a city where law and order gave way to anarchy. Innocent citizens were also injured and killed during the riots.
These criminal acts are often planned and supported by agitators who have traveled across state lines to promote their own violent agenda. These radicals shamelessly attack the legitimacy of our institutions and the rule of law itself.
Trump supporters see “left-wing extremists” and assume that the rest does not apply to them. They fail to understand that claiming that the American elections are all “rigged” would be considered a “fringe ideology” that the United States is fundamentally unjust. No, that only relates to the 1619 project.
Conservatives love LAW AND ORDER when making life difficult for blacks is simply a dog-whistling call.
Dred Scott’s decision stated that blacks do not have “rights that white people should respect”. Today, Trump supporters apparently believe America has no laws to respect. You will learn a tough lesson. A Trump supporter at the MAGA rally complained that the cops gassed her in tears.
“This is not America,” she said. “They’re shooting at us. You’re supposed to shoot BLM, but they’re shooting at the patriots.”
Sherlock Holmes put it best: “Violence in truth backs up to violence, and the schemer falls into the pit he is digging for another.”
