New York City Rich and Poor – The Inequality Crisis

Here is another excellent documentary from German public broadcaster DW on YouTube that explores the terrible inequality between belongings in the US and focuses on families on the other end of the socioeconomic spectrum in New York City. In all honesty, I found some of the wealthy people and attitudes depicted in the program grotesque, but you are free to choose what to think. I will say that Ireland generally does not have the same wealth gap as the US and lives on a below average income in part of Dublin, whose income is well above the average that the local effects of the Covid-19 crisis have been here noticeably different from what I’ve seen elsewhere in the country. Money may not buy you happiness, but it certainly removes many worries in life. Especially in the most extreme times.
