The Michigan GOP could pass electoral integrity laws without the governor’s approval

The Michigan GOP will be able to make changes to Michigan’s electoral integrity laws without the approval of Michigan’s Dem Governor Gretchen Whitmer.

Fox News reported:

Michigan Republicans this week proposed changes to state electoral law and reportedly found a veto-proof way to bypass Democratic Governor Gretchen Whitmer.

The 39 bills proposed this week in the GOP-led legislature would require the identification of new voters, ban prepaid envelopes, limit the number of absentee mailboxes and prevent the foreign minister from sending a postal vote unless requested according to Bridge Michigan.

“If this legislation doesn’t get passed by our legislature, which I’m sure, but if it doesn’t get signed by the governor, we have other plans to make sure it becomes law before 2022,” said Ron Weiser, chairman of Michigan GOP said in a video on social media, according to The Detroit News.

It is urgently needed.
