Pro-Biden Press Corps is deeply embarrassing

President Joe Biden’s first formal press conference is on the books and it has been deeply embarrassing for anyone who believes it is the job of the media to hold presidents accountable.

The taxpayer-able PBS White House correspondent Yamiche Alcindor was the worst. She complimented the President and said, “You kept saying that immigrants shouldn’t come to this country now; This is not the time to come. This message is not received. Instead, the perception of you that you have been chosen as a moral, decent man is the reason why many immigrants come to this country and entrust you with unaccompanied minors. “

Mr President, you are a decent magnet! Biden replied, “Well, look, I think I should be flattered, people come because I’m the nice guy. That’s why it happens. “

An overarching theme of the reporter selected by Team Biden was their lust for the destruction of the filibuster and their channeled power-hungry leftists like Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, who want a “big agenda”.

Alcindor subsequently noted that Zeke Miller of the Associated Press asked the event vaguely at the beginning of the event how far Biden was willing to override the Republicans (hint, hint). He mentioned immigration: “(i) Migration is of course a big problem when it comes to the filibuster, but there are also Republicans who pass bill after bill to restrict voting rights. Chuck Schumer calls it an existential threat to democracy. Why not support a filibuster rule that at least bypasses problems like voting rights or immigration? “

Washington Post reporter Seung Min Kim repeated, “To pursue the filibuster, do you think it should take 60 votes to end a filibuster on legislation, or 51?”

CBS news reporter Nancy Cordes reiterated that Republicans want to “restrict” voting for young people and minorities and asked, “Is there anything else you can do about it besides passing laws?”

CNN reporter Kaitlan Collins did not attack Biden like Jim Acosta did. It doubled in size when it crushed the filibuster. “At John Lewis’ funeral, President Barack Obama said he believed the filibuster was a ‘relic’ of the Jim Crow era. Do you agree? “She asked. Biden said yes. She added,” Why not get rid of it if it’s a relic of the Jim Crow era? “

Was it racist when Obama or Biden filibustered? Nobody asked.

How is it fair or factual to claim that Republican bills requiring voters to present a voter ID or a postal vote signature verification are relics of Jim Crow? CNN claims to be “Facts First”? This is a pants-on-fire lie.

The other dominant topic was immigration. ABC News’ Cecilia Vega channeled the story of a 9-year-old immigrant sent to America by his mother. (There is no criticism of the mother.) She gave a lecture to Biden, noting that unaccompanied minors sleep on the floor.

Janet Rodriguez of Univision, who is both a television broadcaster and an immigration advocate, wanted to know when all of these shameless cross-border commuters will get smoother access. “When can we expect your promise that through contact, convenience, and processing, things will get better?” She asked.

In her honor, NBC’s Kristen Welker asked when Biden would allow the press to enter the overcrowded unaccompanied minors and was denied a serious answer. There were serious questions about Afghanistan, China and North Korea.

Overall, however, no questions from outside the liberal media bubble were allowed. Fox News’ Peter Doocy was verbally abused. It all felt carefully written when Biden appeared to be reading some of the answers from a notebook. Most reporters urged the president to be more partisan and radical in order to defeat allegedly racist, democracy-destroying, “restrictive” Republicans. It felt a lot more like a cozy democratic strategy meeting than a press conference.
